Father and son indicted for assaulting FMC doctor

Rawlings testified that the defendants conspired with each other to assault a certain Dr. Pelumi Somorin by slapping her on the right and left cheek in the line of duty.

According to her, the defendants attacked Somorin, accusing him of having caused the death of their wife and mother.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Sections 516 and 355 of the Ogun State Penal Code Acts 2006.

In his plea, the father informed the court that he had written a letter of apology to the leadership of the FMC and the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Ogun Chapter.

The Magistrate, I.O. Abudu, admitted that the defendants were given bail of N200,000 each with bail each, who must be registered slaves with the Ogun State Judiciary.

She adjourned the case to February 16, 2023, for a report of settlement or trial.
