Felabration 2022: Dancers, artists, fashion designers win N3m in competition
Felabration 2022 kicked off earlier in the week with three activities; an art competition, an Afrobeat dance competition and a fashion show competition.
Yeni Kuti conceived the idea for Felabration, the month-long music and lifestyle festival honoring the legacy of her late father and Afrobeat ancestor, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, in 1998.< /p>
Entrants to all three competitions submitted entries that followed the theme of the year, "Fear Not 4 Man".
The first competition that heralded the Felabration 2022 was the artwork competition held on September 29, 2022. In its sixth year, a young Nigerian artist, Anigioro Omolade Babatunde, emerged victorious and took was awarded N550,000.
Judges announced the young artist as the winner after 55 different artworks competed fiercely for the winning prize in the contest that announced
The judges, Sarah Boulos, Prince Yemisi Shyllon and Mufu Onifade, carefully evaluated the works of various artists from around the world who competed to win the coveted prize money, fame and honor.
>Uzoma Vincent's sculpture titled 'Freedom' came in second with a 250,000 naira token, while Akinola Oluwatomi Kazeem's 'Despite all odds' came in third and was rewarded with 150 000 naira.

After the judging process, the judges expressed their joy for the competition while welcoming the increase in the number of submissions.
On Friday, the Felabration Afrobics Dance Competition took place at the New Afrikan Shrine. The winners went home with a total sum of more than 3 million naira as a reward for their dedication.

The judges, Funke Kuti, Segun Adefila and Bunmi Olunloyo, carefully took the time to evaluate the dancers before arriving at the top five dancers.
One of the judges, Mr. Adefila, said the dancers, who competed for the coveted prize money, fame and honor, were judged for the use of space, time, adherence to theme, costume, and attendance, among other considerations.
The Chrysolite crew took first prize and went home with N1 million, while Lagos Family came second and received a reward of N750,000. The third prize, N500,000, was awarded to Danjex, a group of four dancers.
Similarly, Sandra Oyewole, Head of the Collaborative Business Support Committee, rewarded the 4th and 5th winners with a consolation prize of N50,000 each.
