The Audi Q8 e-tron was made official last month and now Audi has revealed the first car has rolled off its production line in Brussels.

The Q8 e-tron is an updated version of the original Audi e-tron and this new model has joined the Q8 range. There are now a number of different models in the Audi e-tron range.

Gerd Walker, Audi Board Member for Production and Logistics, stresses the importance of the brand's new top-of-the-range model: "With its increased efficiency and range, as well as its sharp design, the new Audi Q8 e-tron is a strong statement for electromobility. Walker also underlines the exceptional role of the Brussels site as a pioneer in sustainable production: "Brussels has done valuable pioneering work. We learn from our experience of having delivered approximately 160,000 vehicles worldwide. In the next step, we will use this experience to accelerate battery production in Ingolstadt. ”The battery assembly plant in Brussels plays a role precursor for the entire Group.

Unlike many competitors, Audi is focused on transforming production from the inside out in an effort to herald the future of production at Audi, the 360factory. In the meantime, Brussels is a model for certain areas of this innovative plant concept. For Audi, investing in existing factories is "sustainability in action" - economically, ecologically and socially. "Audi's path conserves resources and accelerates our transformation," Walker said. For Xavier Ros, Audi board member for human resources and organization, Brussels provides valuable insight into targeted employee qualification programs. "The experience that Brussels has acquired since 2018 can be used in all sites of the Audi group."
