Flutterwave sponsors STEAM Fun Fest, to continue supporting education and innovation

Flutterwave, Africa's leading payment technology company, is proud to have sponsored STEAM Fun Fest 2023 focused on promoting science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) education to young children.

The event was themed “Equipping the Future Workforce with STEAM Skills” and was held at the Landmark Center in Victoria Island, Lagos, hosting over 3,000 attendees including parents and children.

The Fun Fest was born in 2021 with the aim of meeting the urgent need to cultivate a love of STEAM topics in children. The inaugural event successfully attracted over 1,300 young minds, sparking their curiosity and enthusiasm for STEAM.

The event, where Flutterwave participated in a panel discussion, featured career talks, interactive hands-on activities, and exciting games, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of STEAM topics.

Bode Abifarin, COO of Flutterwave, said; “We are proud to have participated in the success of this event. We believe in equipping the future workforce with the skills necessary to continue adapting to the ever-changing technological landscape.

"It is our collective duty to ensure that the next generation is well prepared for the future to drive economic prosperity and innovation, and we will continue to do our part to fulfill our commitment."

Commenting on the sponsorship, Jadesola Adedeji, co-founder of STEM METS, said Flutterwave's partnership played a crucial role in making the event a tremendous success, creating treasured memories for children and parents.

"Their belief in the vision to inspire and spark passion for STEAM education in children is remarkable. These incredible sponsors have enabled the team to deliver innovative and engaging events to young minds in the community. We look forward to partnering with Flutterwave for future events as we take this vision across Africa."

Through this sponsorship, Flutterwave has recognized the STEAM skills gap and is committed to addressing this skills shortage and inspiring the next generation of technology entrepreneurs.

Recently, Flutterwave launched Tuition, a product designed to enable students, parents, guardians and sponsors to pay tuition fees at over 40 institutions in the UK, with plans to add more institutions in more countries in Africa and beyond.
