Frank to the Judges of the Court: Be Resolute, Do Justice Without Fear or Favor

A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Timi Frank, has called on the judges presiding over the Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC) to be resolute and stay true to their oath of office and allegiance by delivering justice without fear or favour.

Frank, in a statement released on Sunday, urged the Court of Appeal judges to seize the opportunity presented by the revelation by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar won 21 states to redeem the lost image of the judiciary.

DAILY POST reports that INEC, in its response to the joint petition by Atiku and the PDP, revealed that the PDP presidential candidate won 21 states in the federation in the February 25 presidential election.

The 21 states listed by INEC as won by Atiku and PDP are Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Borno, Delta, Ekiti, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Osun, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe, and Zamfara.

Frank said now that INEC voluntarily admitted publicly that Atiku won 21 states instead of the 12 states it had previously awarded him, the Tribunal need look no further than to declare the former vice president as the true winner of the February 25, 2023 presidential election.

"This clearly shows that Atiku's results were swapped with those of Tinubu to win him, albeit fraudulently. The judges owe it to themselves, to Nigerians and to God to declare Atiku the legitimate winner of the 2023 presidential election.

“We know that the judges of the Court of Appeal hearing the motion challenging the declaration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the presidential election are under enormous pressure coupled with vile threats and intimidation to maintain an illegal status quo, but they must not succumb because the pressure of God that will be upon them if they overlook this material fact would be greater than the pressure of men.

“It should never be said that the man who won the fewest states and votes became president, unlike the man who won the majority of states and votes.

"We cannot afford to return to the era of impunity in this country when the governors of Nigeria called an election and declared the winner the man who won 15 votes rather than the one who won 19 votes.

“Judges must be resolute and remain true to their oath of office and allegiance by carrying out their duties without fear or favour,” he said.
