Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff has reached a deal with the BBC after being injured in an accident while filming Top Gear last year.
The Sun reported that the deal with BBC Studios was based on the former England cricketer missing out on two years of earnings - and was worth £9million.
Filming on the series has been suspended pending a review of the incident.
Payment will not be funded by the TV license, as BBC Studios is a commercial arm of the broadcaster.
Flintoff's legal team told the newspaper that the former cricketer was still recovering from "life-changing" injuries.
After the accident on December 13, 2022 on the Top Gear test track at the airfield from Dunsfold Park in Surrey, Flintoff received medical treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital for further treatment.
