The main teaser for Amazon's 'Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' TV series was released on July 14, five months after the first dramatic 60-second trailer opened a window on the ambitious and maximalist future Lord of the Rings prequel.
The series was announced in November 2017, and in June 2018, Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke gave fans an idea of what the new series might look like when she revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that the studio was talking. to writers. Among other things, we now know that the series will take place in the Second Age, a few thousand years even before the birth of Aragorn (the heir to the kingdom of men in The Lord of the Rings, played by Viggo Mortensen)! And as the series' release date nears, all the previews we've gotten so far seem to promise an interesting prequel to one of the greatest fantasy trilogies to ever grace the silver screen.
