Ganduje fires commissioner for alleged disloyalty

Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has sacked the State Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Muhammad Adam, known as “Baba Impossible”.

Information and Home Affairs Commissioner Muhammad Garba disclosed this to reporters on Saturday.

Mr. Garba said the commissioner was removed from his post for disloyalty to the authorities and for inconsiderate remarks.

The dismissal is effective immediately, he said.

“The dismissal of the commissioner and member of the state executive council follows his inappropriate behavior as a civil servant carrying out a sensitive function, as well as his inconsiderate remarks,” Mr. Garba said.

In addition to acting without consultation, Mr. Adam has been disloyal to the government, he added.

He announced that the Governor had appointed Nazifi Ishaq as his replacement.
