CP commits to improving safety at Sokoto Hospital

Sokoto State Police Commissioner Usaini Gumel has reassured hospital management and staff at Kware Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital of improved security in and around the hospital premises.

Gumel gave the assurance on Friday during his visit to the hospital, as part of measures to strengthen relations and establish cooperation with agencies.

He reiterated his commitment to meeting expectations, while assuring that the Nigerian Police will not abdicate their mandate to protect people's lives and property.

He expressed his appreciation for the quality of services and facilities within the hospital.

Gumel, who inspected the facilities, expressed his satisfaction and commended the hospital management for the overwhelming infrastructural developments executed by the management.

Earlier in his remarks, the medical director of the hospital, Prof. Shehu Sale, requested the support of the police to ensure better security in the hospital and its surroundings.

Sale said security is paramount for peaceful coexistence and allows human beings to conduct their affairs freely without interference.

He said the hospital provides services to citizens around the clock and needs a conducive atmosphere for the staff to perform better.

The Medical Director reassured on the commitment and support to the police in their mandate to protect lives and property at all times.

The meeting resolved the commitment of the police to support management in providing a safe environment for patients and staff and strengthening the hospital's security apparatus.

The Commissioner's entourage included DCP John Nwokolo, ACP. Yakubu Muhammad, CSP Salihu Nababa, CSP Ghali Nakamba, SP. Kabir Ahmad, DSP. Halidu Malan, among others.
