Godfrey is the Toffees' fastest player – Iwobi

Everton star Alex Iwobi has claimed Ben Godfrey is the club's fastest player and not Anthony Gordon.

Frank Lampard seems to have turned things around at Goodison Park. The Toffees have looked good this season, and Iwobi has been one of their best performers in his new central midfield position.

In an interview with the Premier League, the Nigerian claimed that Gordon was actually "very fast", but there is one player at the club who is even faster than him - Godfrey.

"Anthony is very fast, you know? He might be one of the fastest on the team.

"Ben (Godfrey) is the fastest - the facts. But Anthony will try to say it's him."

Godfrey has had a torrid time with injuries.

He missed the last seven games of last season with a thigh problem, and just when he was hoping to put all fitness issues behind him, he suffered a another terrible injury on the opening day of the new season.

The 24-year-old isn't expected to return anytime soon. He's likely to stay out until the end of the World Cup, meaning there's a slim chance he won't play again this year.

Everton now have a strong back four and midfield and it will be interesting to see where Godfrey fits in once he returns from injury.
