APC leader Mustapha Inuwa defaults on PDP in Katsina

A key member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party in Katsina State, Dr. Mustapha Inuwa left the party for the main opposition People's Democratic Party, PDP.

Inuwa made his decision known on Sunday at his campaign office in Katsina after consulting with hundreds of his supporters and groups who chanted solidarity songs about his capacity and ability to shape state policy.< /p>

The stalwart of the APC party is the former Secretary of Katsina State Government (SSG) under outgoing Governor Aminu Bello Masari.

He lost to Dr. Dikko Umar Radda when he contested the Katsina State Governorship ticket on the APC platform.

The report says Inuwa pledged his support for Radda shortly after the gubernatorial primaries.

Subsequently, supporters on both sides began trading accusations when things suddenly fell apart.

The report also states that the APC and Labor Party vice-presidential candidates, Senators Kashim Shetima and Datti Baba Ahmed, respectively, visited Dr. Inuwa apart from the PDP leaders in the state and NNPP.

However, Inuwa said he realized that he and his followers had no relevance in the APC, from where he eventually decided to join his old home, the PDP, qu he left penultimate election of 2015 for the opposition APC.
