Gombe government urges residents to imbibe the spirit of love and sacrifice

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya has urged the Muslim community in Gombe to imbibe the spirit of love and sacrifice, adding that they are responses to insecurity and socio-economic problems.

In a goodwill message made available to our correspondent by the Director General of Press Affairs, Government House, Ismaila Misilli, the Governor described the Eid-el-Kabir holiday as a time of sacrifice , sharing and caring, urging the faithful to continue to imbibe the spirit of love, unity of purpose and obedience as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (as) and confirmed by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

He also urged them to remain steadfast in their prayers for peace, prosperity and development of the state, as well as to end the current insecurity and other socio-economic challenges plaguing the nation.

The statement read in part: "This period reminds us of Allah's unconditional love for humanity and the need for us to reproduce the same spirit in our homes and communities as well as in our daily lives for peace. and the overall unity of the state and nation."

"Although the nation is currently grappling with a myriad of socio-economic challenges, which are stagnating its development process, this should not prevent us from learning the right lessons from the Eid-el holiday. Kabir who teaches compassion, selfishness, love and obedience to the commandments of Almighty Allah."

Yahaya took the opportunity to express his gratitude to traditional rulers, community and religious leaders as well as the entire people of Gombe State for their continued support and cooperation to his administration, ensuring to continue to remain resolute in its determination to execute people. policies, programs and projects focused on the policies necessary for the socio-economic development of the State.

Commenting on the 2023 general election, the Governor reminded residents of the State to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise underway by the Independent National Electoral Commission, to obtain their PVCs in order to be eligible to exercise their right to elect credible leaders.

He urged people to be mindful of their safety and to report any act of violation of law and order that could threaten the prevailing peace in the state, while saying that "on our part, the government will not abdicate its primary responsibility to protect the life and property of the people and will continue to support the security agencies in their efforts to ensure the peace and security of our beloved state. »

The governor also assured to continue to build on the successes recorded so far to change the dynamics of socio-economic development of Gombe and put it on a remarkable growth platform, through the provision of critical infrastructure, human capital development, dynamic industrialization and agricultural transformation among others.
