Governor Inuwa mourns Ajiyan Gombe, Senior Chief of Kwami District

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya expressed his sorrow over the passing of Ajiyan Gombe and Kwami District Senior Chief Alhaji Haruna Abdullahi who passed away in the early hours of Monday at the age of 94 after a long illness.

In a statement of condolences, the Governor described the passing of the traditional leader as a huge loss to the state and the nation.

He said the deceased was an iconic figure, a reputable educator and a highly respected leader in Gombe State, who throughout his 53-year reign as district chief was known for to preach peace and uphold the course of unity and harmony, not only in his domain, but throughout the state.

The Governor further said that the late traditional ruler left behind a huge void and indelible footprints, adding that the government will surely miss his paternal guidance.

He urged family members to uphold the legacy of honour, dignity and selfless service left by the late District Chief, Alhaji Haruna Abdullahi.

Inuwa Yahaya, on behalf of the government and people of Gombe State, sent his sincere condolences to the Gombe Emirate Council, the people of Kwami District and the entire Kwami community for the monumental loss, praying to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannat Firdaus.
