Gunmen Stripped Me, Robbed Me - Cleric

A Pentecostal Archbishop and President of Unifaith Living Church Incorporated, Paul Hanson, has recounted how he was stripped by gunmen while traveling to Anambra State to consecrate an elected bishop named Norman Okeorimili.

Hanson said the incident happened at Akata Market Square, Orlu, Imo State, at 2pm on Sunday.

He recounted his ordeals at the hands of thugs to reporters during the consecration ceremony of the Bishop-elect in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area of ​​Anambra State on Sunday.

The cleric, who was driving from Akwa Ibom state, said his car, badges, rank insignia, money, six phones, among other personal belongings, were taken away by the thugs.

While recounting his ordeal, he expressed his deep concern that a cleric could be stripped naked and have all his possessions taken from him.

He said, "This incident happened at Akata, Orlu market place, Imo state, when I was coming from Akwa Ibom state, to consecrate Bishop elected from our church, Norman Okeorimili, in Ogidi.

"I was robbed; they left me with my pants on, my car and everything in it was taken away. They included six phones which included those of my driver, money, badges, badge rank, among others.

"Someone I don't know brought his car to help me. He helped me get to the commander of the police zone and from there I called my police officer. divisional police in Akwa Ibom and told him what had happened. The attack on me did not prevent me from consecrating Norman Okeorimili."

Reacting, the newly consecrated bishop said God intended for the consecration to be carried out despite the attack, emphasizing that the cleric must carry out his mission as ordained by God.

“That's why what God said would happen, no one would stop it. They couldn't stop the consecration because it was God's will that today, Sunday, it should happen”, Okeorimili .
