Runaway driver kills ex-Lagos governor's son while riding his bike

Deputy Managing Director and co-founder of Vetiva Capital Management, Olaolu Mudasiru, is believed to have died after being hit by a driver who has yet to be identified.

PUNCH Metro picked up Mudasiru was killed on Sunday morning in a hit-and-run accident while cycling with two other people on Bourdilion Road in the Ikoyi region of Lagos State.

The Vetiva co-founder was also the first son of Gbolahan Mudasiru, a former military governor of Lagos State who died in 2003.

Lagos Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident to our correspondent.

Hundeyin, however, said no one has been arrested in connection with the crash.

Mudasiru was an investment banker with extensive experience in brokerage, asset management and other aspects of investment banking business.

He had an MSc. in International Securities, Investments and Banking from the ICMA Center at the University of Reading, UK, an M.B; BS Graduated from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria, and an alumnus of Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

He was a Fellow of the London Stock Exchange, an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Nigeria, as well as a Fellow of the Medical & Dental Council of Nigeria.

He was also a recipient of the Chevening Scholarship, which is awarded to "top mid-career pilots" around the world by the UK government.

Mudasiru was quite versatile and his 16 years of experience spans the spectrum of investment banking covering wealth management, financial intermediation, trading and executing various transactions in the financial services industry.
