From scary thrillers to hilarious and dark comedies, Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton's anthology has managed to shock and surprise viewers over the past decade.

Ahead of the ninth and final season of the Bafta-winning Inside No. 9, they've been thinking about the show's history, and it hasn't always been easy.

"There were certainly times when TV executives thought we couldn't achieve certain things, but we always proved to them that they had wrong," says Pemberton, 56.

The duo hasn't been afraid to experiment over the years, having produced an entirely silent episode, a all in iambic pentameter and now, in the final series, an episode filmed from a doorbell camera.

"Actually, it ended up being one. one of the most gripping episodes we've ever made. .
