The 60-year-old actress opened up about their romance in a documentary about her husband's life and career produced by Femi Odugbemi.
She detailed how they met on a production set and the journey to their love story.
"It was just before Nigeria's 21st birthday celebration. Ms. Edith Enem was the Artistic Director of the National Theater at the time, and they wanted to put on a production of 'Jero's Metamorphosis,'" she recalled.
According to her, the set was buzzing with this man who came from England called Olu Jacobs and who was going to play the main character, Jero. She recalled that with the excitement that they were talking about him, she was looking forward to meeting him (Olu Jacobs).
She said, "We were in rehearsal one day at the main bowl...and I was told to call Ms. Enem to come over and take a look at what we had been rehearsing. And as I was opening the curtain, I just heard this amazing voice saying, 'Wow! That's the standard of the woman I'm going to marry.' top to bottom and, I thought, what crap.
"But he came to rehearsals and he was a great person to work with. He realized he had made a mistake and tried to get into my good graces after that. And we became great friends,” she said.
That was the beginning of what led to 37 years of happy marriage.

"When he finally came, he apologized profusely and explained why he was away. He said fine, they partied until the early hours of the day. They all fell asleep and the people who were supposed to wake him up at 9:30 a.m. woke up just as the service started at 10 a.m. He woke up at 9:30 a.m. And started screaming and waking everyone up,” she said. /p>
