Creators, hobbyists, and 3D printing enthusiasts might be interested in a new tutorial released this month on how to galvanize 3D prints to fantastic effect. In the demo video below, YouTuber and electroplating master @hen3drik reveals how he 3D printed the Narsil sword from Lord of the Rings and covered it with metal plating. Make the sword look like it was forged from metal.

The files for 3D printing a life-size replica of the Narsil sword have been kindly posted on the Thingiverse website and are free to download.

"The sword is quite large and is meant to be post-processed. This is a 3D printable digital model of King Elendil's Narsil Longsword, which was later reforged to Aragorn en Andúril Download contains pieces of the sword ready to 3D print on a 200mm print bed and files that are not cut into small pieces All cut parts are placed on the 200mm print bed print as we would print them to save you time."
