The Sun was questioned by a parliamentary committee about its editorial procedures after publishing allegations about Huw Edwards.
The newspaper published allegations that a presenter BBC News reportedly paid a youngster for sexually explicit photos.
The Culture, Media and Sport (CMS) Committee wrote to the newspaper for a "overview of the Sun's vetting and decision-making processes".
In response, the Sun said it was "a responsible media organization".
The newspaper "has strict editorial and legal frameworks in place to ensure that articles are accurate and legal," the editor said. Victoria Newton in her response letter.
The committee has also asked the BBC for more details about its own review.
