I share your sorrows, said the governor of Bauchi to Wike, Ortom, others

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed said he felt the pain of the G5 governors and assured them he was "very connected to all of them".

Mohammed made the statement on Wednesday when the group paid him a "solidarity" visit to Maison Ramat in Bauchi.

During his speech, Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike said, “We come here in solidarity with our friend, the Governor of Bauchi State. we do to those of our friends, it's knowing how things are going with them, how the elections are going. This period is a period for identifying with your friends.

"Fortunately, four of us who are here are not running for a second term, even if they are running for the Senate, I am the only one not running for office after failing in the primary ( presidential election) (election). To move forward, nothing more than to fraternize with him. If there is an area we can help and advise him because what affects him also affects us. Nothing more than this, just to say how you are doing and how you plan,” Wike said.

While responding, Mohammed said he was happy to receive them in Bauchi. "The G5 governors, they were called 'Integrity Group'. I'm supposed to be with them but they excommunicated me for a reason well known to them. But I'm very connected with them, every single one of them. There isn't a day that I don't call to speak with each of them.

"Because in politics, you go with the people you share something in common with. The presidency that we ran where my brother was defeated and he defeated me brought us closer. Of course, at the Governors Forum, one thing I appreciate about them is that they look at your challenges even if they don't run for a second term, but they are still worried.

"We have something in common. They know I have anti-party challenges, under-action challenges in some betrayals and misdeeds and of course politics is all about that, but when you know that you have people behind you, of that stature and caliber, you feel fulfilled,” he says.

Governors present were Nyesom Wike from Rivers, Samuel Ortom from Benue, Okezie Ikpeazu from Abia and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi from Enugu State while Seyi Makinde from Oyo State was in the United States.
