The United States of America joined Nigerians in celebrating the country's 62nd Independence Day.

In a press release on Saturday, US Secretary Antony Blinken said the partnership between the two countries is based on shared values ​​of democracy, diversity and entrepreneurship.

According to Blinken, the United States is committed to supporting Nigerian efforts to combat terrorism, insecurity, as well as free and fair elections.

The statement read, “On behalf of the United States, I extend my best wishes to the people of Nigeria on the 62nd anniversary of their independence.

"The partnership between our two countries is solid and is based on our shared values ​​of democracy, diversity and entrepreneurship.
