INEC declares Ubah winner of Anambra South senatorial ballot, LP's Umeh and Nwoye hope for victory
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Young Progressive Party (YPP) senatorial candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, the winner of the Anambra South Senatorial District election held on Saturday 25 February.
YPP Candidate Surveys 73,115 People to Win Election; while his closest rival, the Hon. APGA's Chris Emeka Azubogu was second at 45,369; while LP and PDP trail with 28,102 and 21,209 votes respectively.
In another yet to be announced result, Labor Party candidate Senator Victor Umeh is already in happy mode, having beaten incumbent Senator Uche Ekwunife of the People's Democratic Party to win Anambra Central Senatorial election.
Also, LP candidate, Hon. Tony Nwoye, is touted for beating an incumbent Senator Stella Oduah to win the senatorial election for Anambra North senatorial area.
The two candidates would have succeeded, following the enormous popularity of the Labor Party, thanks to the factor Peter Obi.
Many candidates for the House of Representatives have also won their election on the Labor Party platform due to the popularity of Mr. Peter Obi in the state.
