INEC distributes sensitive material to Ekiti LGAs

Ahead of Saturday's elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, distributed sensitive polling materials to sixteen local governments in Ekiti State.

While distributing the materials at the premises of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Ado-Ekiti, the state's Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Ayobami Salami, said the early distribution was to avoid delay of the materials at polling stations on election day.

He stressed that everything necessary for the smooth running of the polls was ready, saying that the election would be held as planned, contrary to rumors that it would be postponed.

The REC reassured Nigerians that their votes would count, calling on them to come out to exercise their right to vote in the elections.

Speaking on behalf of other political parties, the Chairman of the Inter-Party Consultative Council, IPAC, in Ekiti State, Mr. Owoola Daramola expressed his satisfaction with the process of distributing the documents and expressed his optimism about the transparency of the elections.< /p>

Earlier during the briefing of the observer groups who will participate in the elections in Ekiti State, Prof. Salami urged them to be transparent and neutral, and also to avoid partisanship in the election. performance of their duties.
