Insecurity: Force spokesperson urges Nigerians to always share information

Nigeria Police Spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi has called on Nigerians to constantly and urgently share information with security agencies that will help control insecurity in the country.

Mr. Adejobi, a Chief Superintendent of Police, made the call Sunday on his verified Twitter account monitored by News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

He said the security information was not intended for the public, noting that he hated sharing information in the news or on social media.

He said that any person or group of people who took pleasure in publicizing security intelligence did so out of ignorance, as it could not be considered intelligence, but rather visual service and sabotage.< /p>

"Security agencies work together, gather intelligence and share it among themselves for coordinated operations, which will be in the collective interest and benefit all.

“Nigerians should see and perceive insecurity in the country as a common enemy of the land. They should share information about insecurity with the police.

"I'm sure right now the crop of police officers want a better system and better security for Nigeria so they will take any intelligence they receive seriously," he said .

Furthermore, the police image maker said there is a need for all sectors of Nigerian society to wake up and do the right thing; not to accuse everyone, everywhere and every day.

"We need a functional approach to combat our common enemy. We urge Nigerians to consistently share information with security agencies as soon as possible.
