The 21-acre island is on the market for deals in excess of £15million and is home to a pub, historic Art Deco hotel and helicopter pad .

Burgh Island Hotel is an iconic 1930s white building with 25 en-suite bedrooms and suites, two restaurants, a sauna and a gym. billiards.

Over the past five years the hotel has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment programme. It also has planning permission for 12 additional rooms and suites and 13 staff rooms.

The hotel is said to have hosted Winston Churchill and General Dwight Eisenhower when they discussed the D-Day invasion in 1944, as well as inspiring Agatha Christie's Evil Under the Sun and And Then There Were None.
