Jamie Foxx breaks silence on medical emergency, "I went to hell and I came back"

Jamie Foxx spoke for the first time about a medical emergency that he says was so bad he wasn't sure he could handle it.

The actor posted a video to Instagram on Friday evening, opening up emotionally about the suffering he endured and why he kept details of his condition under wrpas.

Jamie said, "I can't even begin to tell you how far this has taken me and how this has brought me back. I went through something I thought I would never go through."

As to why he waited so long to speak... Jamie said he didn't want anyone to see him with tubes coming out of his body, adding, "I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, doing a TV show."

Jamie has shut down online rumors that he was paralyzed and blind, acknowledging that he had been "to hell and back" but is now able to work despite some difficulties during his recovery.

He then thanked his daughter, Corinne, and sister, Deondra Dixon, for sticking by his side through his recent health struggles after his family said he suffered a "medical complication" in April and had to be hospitalized, but he was recently discharged.
