Jon Kitna testifies at hearing on son's child pornography case, UF QB got bail
Jon Kitna was in a Florida courtroom on Thursday morning ... assuring a judge that if his son was released on bail in his child pornography case, the former NFL star would make sure the 19-year-old years returns for each required future hearing.
Jon wore a tie and a plaid suit for the proceedings - which took place less than 24 hours after Jalen Kitna was arrested in Gainesville for possession of child pornography - and he has repeatedly assured that he and his wife would make him follow all the rules and regulations imposed on their son if he were released on Thursday.
Jon, along with his wife, emphatically told the judge that Jalen would live with them in Texas...as long as the Florida Gators quarterback was on bail.
The former Dallas Cowboys signalman's testimony apparently helped his son...as the judge ultimately set young Kitna's bond at $80,000. In rendering his decision, the judge ordered Jalen not to use the internet and to have unsupervised contact with minors.
Jalen appeared very somber during the hearing...sometimes burying his head in his hands. He spoke little except when answering the judge's questions.
Court records show the teenager was formally charged with five counts in the case.
