"The Flight Attendant" has become one of the hottest shows on HBO Max, not to mention an award-winning hit that has earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for several of the crew behind it. the show, including lead actress Kaley Cuoco. After two successful seasons, however, will the comedy-thriller take off for a third time, or is it firmly entrenched?

While there's no official word from HBO Max yet, the behind-the-scenes answer to this question has changed over the past few months. In May, Cuoco suggested that she was at least done with "The Flight Attendant," whether or not a third season happened.

"I'm like, 'Well, we've done two. We should probably be done.' And I think I was outnumbered by that thought," she told People at the time. "There's definitely an interest in doing a third season. I think for me, right now, the plane has landed...I mean, we've done so much this season. Even in the eight episodes, we've so much history that I think, 'Well, what could we do next?' So it's going to take a lot of thinking to make sure if we go back there it's better than the last two, which is very hard to do."

She left the door open, however. "I think the writers and crew did a really nice job of tying it in a nice bow [at the end of season two]," she said. "But if you were to open the bow, that would be OK."

Fast forward a few months, and the merger of Warner Bros. and Discovery left the fates of many HBO Max shows, including "The Flight Attendant," in limbo. Add to that a reported presentation to investors of the new Warner Bros.
