Kannywood actor Kabiru Nakwango debunks death rumors

Kannywood star actor Kabiru Nakwango has denied death rumors that circulated on social media on Monday and early Tuesday.

Mr. Nakwango, a famous Kannywood actor who plays fatherly roles in Hausa movies, is rumored to have died on Sunday.

Debunking the rumor in a video seen by PREMIUM TIMES, the ace actor said he was alive and well.

In the video shot at his farm, Mr. Nakwango was holding a hoe while answering a phone call and saying, “Let all my fans know that I am healthy and alive. I am here on my farm working.

Also, his colleague and producer/actor Abba Almustapha debunked the rumor on his Instagram page, saying, “I just spoke with Nakwango, and he told me he's on his farm right now. He is not dead, as the pages of social networks report.

Hassana Dalhart, a Kano-based Kannywood Film promoter who spoke to PREMIUM TIMES, lamented the recurring trend of death hoaxes in the Hausa film industry.

"If I'm not mistaken, even Ali Nuhu, Sani Danja, and Maryam Yahaya are said to have died at some point during their lifetime. I don't know what joy people feel when announcing someone's death during their lifetime he said.
