Kroos intends to end his career with Real Madrid but no German U-turn for the midfielder

Toni Kroos intends to finish his career at Real Madrid, while the former Germany international has said he will not reconsider his decision to retire from the national team until Qatar 2022.

The veteran playmaker has won numerous major honors with the La Liga giants since arriving from Bayern Munich in 2014, shortly after helping Die Mannschaft win the World Cup in Brazil.

However, having hung up his boots for the national side following England's Euro 2020 round of 16 exit last year, Kroos may well follow suit domestically most soon as possible.

However, he won't be looking to end his time on the pitch anywhere other than the Santiago Bernabeu, regardless of the period.

“I think 2023 is a good year [to retire],” Kroos told Bild. "I'll be 33.

"I will decide if I will renew for a season or two. It is still open for discussion, but I am completely sure that I will retire at Real Madrid."

Kroos will not reconsider his decision to leave the national team, however, as the 106-cap veteran has no intention of making himself available for Hansi Flick's team.

"The decision I made at that time is valid," he added.
