Kuje Prison: NDLEA Arrests Seeking Terrorist Suspect With Drugs In Abuja

The National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested one of the wanted terrorist suspects who escaped from Kuje Medium Security Correctional Center, following an attack on the facility by insurgents last week in Abuja.

The NDLEA Media and Advocacy Director, Mr. Femi Babafemi, said in a statement on Monday that the fugitive terrorist suspect, Suleiman Sidi, was arrested in the early hours of Monday from the Area 1 car park in the federal capital. Territory (FCT), as he attempted to board a commercial vehicle bound for Maiduguri, Borno State. When he was searched, three Cannabis Sativa husks were found on him.

During the interview, according to an NDLEA statement, the wanted terrorist suspect confirmed that he had been remanded to Kuje Correctional Center for terrorism and robbery, adding that he was indeed one of the inmates who escaped from the facility last Tuesday.

While commending the officers and men of the NDLEA FCT Command for the arrest and their vigilance, the Agency's Chief Executive Officer, Brigadier General. Mohamed Marwa (Rtd) has ordered that the wanted suspect be immediately handed over to the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
