The National Executive Committee, NEC, of ​​the New People's Party of Nigeria, NNPP, has said that the party's presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, remains the face of the party and that no group or individual can hang it from the party.

According to the NEC, allegations by a faction of the party that Senator Kwankwaso committed anti-party crimes following his meetings with President Bola Tinubu, a former vice president and presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of people, PDP, in 2023. In the presidential election, Atiku Abubakar and Labor Party candidate Peter Obi were laughable as he carried the national caucus to every meeting.

Speaking to reporters yesterday during a meeting with the National Working Committee and State Chairpersons of the NNPP at the party secretariat in Abuja, Mallam Kawu Ali, who is the National Chairperson of the Kwankwaso-backed NNPP, insisted that the party led by Dr. Boniface Aniebonam The party's board of directors was not properly constituted and did not have the power to suspend Senator Kwankwaso.

Johnson read the speech on behalf of Mallam Kawu Ali, who is the national chairman of the Kwankwaso-backed NNPP, just as they described all actions taken by the faction of the party led by Agbo Major as illegal and inconsequential.

Babayo Muhammed Abdullahi, speaking at the behest of the Major-led faction, stripped Kwankwaso of his status as national leader for allegedly engaging in political talks with President Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi. of the Labor Party (LP) without the permission of the board.
