Lagos APC warns Rhodes-Vivour against instigating claims

Says polls result reflects desire of Lagos residents

The All Progressives Congress of Lagos State (APC) has warned Labor Party (LP) candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivor against words and actions that could disrupt peace in the State.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, the party reacted to the LP candidate's claim that he had won the election. Oladejo alleged that Rhodes-Vivor threatened to render the state ungovernable if the election result did not favor his party. The APC spokesperson said such a provision was not representative of the position of true and well-meaning Lagosians.

"That's not who we are," he said. He said the results of the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections were a realistic and accurate reflection of the electorate's preference.

Oladejo added that the results were a referendum on the remarkable achievements of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his team who excelled in the face of daunting odds.

He said, "It was a vote for tested, trusted, compassionate, and committed leadership rather than a childish, wasteful experiment that could only set our state back.

"The people of Lagos have spoken eloquently and forcefully for a candidate who understands their expectations with the institutional experience to move our state forward.

“While we understand the shock that followed the disappointment of the collapse of crass opportunism as a result of lying and propaganda, the experience of the four previous Rhodes-Vivour election defeats should come in handy.

“We want to thank the Lagosians who voted for our party as a sign of confidence to continue on the path of progress that has given our state a prominent place in the federation.

“We want to assure everyone that trust will never be taken for granted. We will certainly fulfill our part of the social contract.”

“Our government will continue on a path of non-discrimination, inclusion, compassion, and total dedication. »
