Lea Michele and Darren Criss release their Christmas hits on "Carpool Karaoke"

Lea Michele and Darren Criss have joined forces to spread the holiday cheer. In the December 22 special "Carpool Karaoke: The Series," the "Glee" co-stars revisit their original Christmas songs during a festive chorus ride.

The video begins with shots of iconic New York vacation spots, including the ornate decorations of Rockefeller Center and Christmas lights along busy streets, and a shot of people ice skating à la Wollman Central Park Rink. Michele channels her role as "Funny Girl" by jokingly introducing herself as "Darren Criss" before entering the first song.

The Broadway star kicks off her carpool gig with "Christmas in New York," which she originally released on her third studio album, "Christmas in the City," in 2019. Criss and Michele sing the lyrics to match to holiday vibes since the start of the segment. "It's Christmas. Like Darren 'Criss-mas'," jokes Michele mid-song.

"I'm a fan of a lot of Christmas things, so I wrote a little song about all the things that make me want to dance at Christmas," Criss says, prefacing the second and final song from the concert: "Dance Christmas" from Criss' 2021 album, "A Very Darren Crissmas".

While the performance definitely put us in the holiday spirit, watching Criss and Michele perform together makes us nostalgic for a new reunion of former cast mates. In October, Criss and Michele rekindled behind the scenes of "Funny Girl," and Michele thanked Criss for supporting her career over the years. "The number of times this guy heard me sing 'Don't Rain On My Parade'
