Leeds v Man Utd: Luis Sinisterra and Antony's Eredivisie stats compared

Leeds United and Manchester United brought two of the Eredivisie's standout wingers, Luis Sinisterra and Antony, to the Premier League this summer. But how do the two players compare?

Sinisterra arrived in Leeds in July. He joined Jesse Marsch's side from Feyenoord for a fee of £21m. The 23-year-old Colombia international has signed a five-year contract at Elland Road.

Raphinha's replacement has missed most of pre-season with his new club through injury but seems to be leveling up now. Sinisterra scored in each of his first two competitive starts for Los Blancos, both outside the box, with a piledriver against Barnsley followed by a well-placed effort on his Premier League debut, a 1-0 draw. 1 at home to Everton.

"It's not about paying me back. It's about his ability, he'll show his ability more and more, right? Marsch told reporters after Colombia's first Premier League goal.

"He's a special player, and he's got a special combination of athleticism and power with football and intelligence, and then finishing ability, so I think that's fair - that's obviously , I'm really happy for him to be on the scoresheet and I think he's only going to get better.”

Manchester United's deal to sign Antony, meanwhile, was finally completed in the final days of the transfer window. The Red Devils spent the whole summer chasing the Brazilian, and finally got their man, the second player to follow Ajax's Erik ten Hag to Old Trafford after Lisandro Martinez.

They had to pay huge fees to obtain his services. At £85million, it's more than four times the cost of Sinisterra and is a record sale for an Eredivisie club.

Antony missed part of last season through injury but was blown away by his skills when fit. He is now a regular in Tite's Brazilian teams and is expected to play for the Selecao at the World Cup in a few months.

The 22-year-old won Olympic gold last summer and helped win the league title in each of his two full seasons at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

"As soon as Ten Hag went to Old Trafford I thought, 'He's going to take Antony with him,'" South American football pundit Tim Vickery told Sky Sports News.

"[In his youth in Brazil] He would pick up the ball and come back on his strongest foot and he would take the momentum out of attacks. You thought at the time: raw.

"But Ten Hag got him and turned him into a quick little winger who can play on both flanks, whose decision-making is greatly improved and who can also work backwards and make a bit of a change . So as soon as Ten Hag went to Manchester United, I thought, well, Antony is his man."
