Liverpool seek 'pre-summer deal' to sign 'next Jude Bellingham' but target 'in demand'

Liverpool have reportedly been "keeping a close eye" on Birmingham City teenager George Hall, who has been described as the "next Jude Bellingham".

The 18-year-old is following in Bellingham's footsteps as both players have progressed through the ranks of the Championship side.

Hall made his debut for Birmingham last season and has made 18 appearances this season in the Second Division.

The midfielder is already linked elsewhere. Last December, it was reported that Liverpool, Leeds United and Everton were all interested in the teenager.

Football Insider now reports that Liverpool scouts have been watching Hall closely this season. A summer move for the Birmingham starlet is being 'weighed in'.

It's worth noting that Leeds United saw a £3m bid for Hall rejected last summer and they "remain interested" in him ahead of the transfer window later this year.

But Liverpool are considering a move 'before the summer' if they want to 'push through a deal for in-demand talent'.

Birmingham boss John Eustace said last week that Hall had "made huge progress this season" and that he "can go straight to the top".

"I don't think George was ever on the verge of leaving to my knowledge," Eustache said last week.

"Obviously he was injured for the whole window as well, unfortunately.

"He still has a lot of season ahead of him, everyone has 18 important games now, you can see how vital George is for the team, for the team, whether we start him or get him out of the bench, the impact he has for such a young boy.

"He's made huge progress this season, we've certainly missed him and we'll love to see him back in the mix. Potentially George can go straight to the top, he's got something different to a lot of young players , that explosive power, that toughness, for such a young boy, he's such an exciting player to watch.

“He was great [with his injury], he is a very balanced boy. He is a lovely boy, without ego for him, of course he was disappointed, but he continued his rehab, he was very professional in that regard.

"He looks lively, he was in for 10-15 minutes today, it was great to have him back and we can't wait to see him fully on Monday."

It would be a good idea for Liverpool to bring in Hall, who seems like a great prospect for the future.

They are set for a rebuild this summer, with Bellingham and Wolves' Matheus Nunes among their targets.
