Man flees as lover dies at hotel in Lagos

The manager of a guest house in Igbogbo, Ikorodu region, Lagos State, called the police on Saturday after discovering the lifeless body of a woman in one of the hotel rooms.

State Police Spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin revealed this during his interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday.

Mr. Hundeyin said the guesthouse manager reported the matter to the Ikorodu police.

He said the manager's report stated that the woman, aged approximately 46, arrived at the guesthouse on Friday on a motorbike driven by her companion simply identified as Alfa Sule.

The police spokesman said the manager reported that Alfa Sule, of unknown address, stayed at the guesthouse with the woman later identified as Muinat.

Mr. Hundeyin said as the manager was going around the rooms on Saturday around 6 a.m., he discovered the dead body of said woman but Alfa Sule was nowhere to be found.

"There were no marks of violence on the woman; said Alfa Sule was nowhere to be found, but abandoned his Bajaj motorbike.

"Police attended the scene and found the corpse with moss oozing from its nostril.

“Photographs of the scene and the body were taken before the corpse was removed and deposited at the morgue of Ikorodu General Hospital for autopsy,” he said.
