"With a conscious, sincere and objective analysis of the gubernatorial election outcome, we have discovered that electoral loss is not only self-induced by party administrators, it also reflects the problems of the party that had been raised by concerned minds in the recent past.

"The party's problems, which are ignored so far, unfortunately cost our party the election victory and as concerned progressives we felt the need to inform you that it is not safe to to approach the 2023 general election with the same Paper Tiger Party under the leadership of Prince Gboyega Famodun, APC State Chairman in Osun State.

“The problems, to sum it up, boil down to gross mismanagement of the party by Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the party president, Gboyega Famodun. The president has totally demonstrated a lack of ability to manage the party and this is reflected in the outcome of the July 16 gubernatorial election."

He maintained, however, that in order to deal with this emerging, clear and present danger, "we unequivocally make the following demands: the dissolution of all party structures, state-level unity .

"The establishment of an independent interim committee to oversee the restructuring of the party and make it once again an election-winning machine.

“Composition of an inclusive party executive structure, from districts to state level, within 90 days; and

"Redistribution of state and federal legislative tickets globally to reflect true membership structure and tendencies.

"This, in our humble opinion, is the way forward after the stalemate we have found ourselves in the APC and unless we take these steps urgently, we run the grave risk to suffer worse consequences in the next election."

Addressing the protesters, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye assured party members of the steps needed to make the party united and formidable.
