Man Utd can't win EPL, UCL - Maguire told he's surplus to requirements

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has told Manchester United defender Harry Maguire he is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

Souness also said that Man United cannot win the Premier League or the Champions League next season.

Remember that Maguire is out of favor with manager Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, as he is behind defenders like Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane and even Luke Shaw.

"For Harry Maguire, the writing was on the wall when Erik ten Hag started playing Lisandro Martinez, then when he got injured he mixed it up and played Luke Shaw as a centre-back," Souness told Sky Bet Fan Hope Survey.

"So Maguire knows the writing has been on the wall for a long time. Harry has been surplus to requirements with the manager they have at the moment."

He added: "For Manchester United to get more silverware this year, they can only opt for the FA Cup.

"I don't see them winning the Champions League and I don't see them winning the Premier League. They will have improved, and their spending isn't over yet."
