Thieves write to Osun community about possible attack

Suspected armed robbers have struck fear among residents of Onibueja community in Egbedore Local Government Area of ​​Osun State after writing to people to inform them of their planned visit to their homes.

The robbers informed the inhabitants of their intention by posting posters on the walls in certain strategic places in the town.

The notices, written in the Yoruba language, informed community residents to expect home visits before the end of October.

"This is to inform you of our planned visit to your community and to expect you when we arrive. We are armed robbers, keep our money. We realize you have a strong person who can stop thieves, say to the person to await our arrival. 05/10/2022. We will burglarize your homes before the end of this month. Expect our visit before the end of October,” the notice reads.

“Be ready for our visit before the end of the month. 05/10/2022. We will visit you before the end of this month. We have identified the strongest person in this community. We are armed robbers, we are coming, expect our visits,” the notice adds.

A local resident, who asked not to be named, said there was panic in the community.

The resident said that some of them have started to leave their homes.

"The letter is true. We are all scared because no one knows if they are serious or not. Some people have started leaving for another place."

Najeemdeen Alabi, the community leader, confirmed seeing the notice.
