Manchester United: You defend too deeply - Martinez tells Maguire

Manchester defender Lisandro Martinez told team-mate Harry Maguire in Sunday's FA Cup win over Fulham that he was defending too deep.

This claim was made by former Manchester United player Paul Parker.

Maguire is currently on international duty with the England national team as they prepare for their Euro 2024 qualifying matches.

The Man United captain was partnered with Martinez in Fulham's 3-1 FA Cup quarter-final win a few days ago.

And Parker claimed the Argentina World Cup star was clearly saying something to Maguire, adding he couldn't understand why the former Leicester City star couldn't understand how the Man United manager, Erik ten Hag, wanted his team to play.

"He hasn't played regularly for a long time and he fights defensively every chance he gets," Parker told BonusCodeBets of Maguire.

"Martinez was making it clear to him in the previous game [Man United vs Fulham] that he was defending too deep and I don't understand how he can't understand how Erik ten Hag wants to play."
