Veteran actor, Chiwetalu Agu has said that money plays an important role in the endorsement of politicians vying for elective positions by Nigerian celebrities.

The actor expressed his dissatisfaction with what he described as the lack of integrity and morality of some artists who he says allow money to influence their opinions .

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Agu said, "I'm not part of that (acting) family. It (approval) comes down to self-interest because politics doesn't is no longer the job of sanitized citizens.

"A lot of things have to do with money these days. Money can influence people. People are no longer patient. What they matter is what money makes for them today, not tomorrow.

"No one is patient because things are difficult. Integrity, morality and conscience are gone. What we are doing in Nigeria today repulses me."

Agu also lamented that corruption continues to thrive in the country, despite the promise made by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (Retired), to meet the challenge head-on. he was elected. He said, “Buhari said he will come to fight corruption to the end, to put corruption in a very serious situation. But when he came, the money started to trade hands.

“Everything went gaga. Integrity no longer matters. I lost hope in the (current) regime. In fact, what Buhari does is not leadership; it is the "government".
