Naira Overhaul: Governments on Watch List Rise, Says EFCC
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa said on Thursday that the Naira overhaul introduced by the federal government has increased the number of governors on their watch list.
Bawa made this known to reporters at the State House after meeting with the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (Retired).
During his speech, the EFCC boss declined to comment on the number of governors currently under the commission's watch.
He said: "Our agency is pleased with the overhaul of the naira note as this policy would help the Central Bank of Nigeria to control the funds in the system and by extension, allow people to borrow more money. money.
"I believe (as an economics student) that the Naira overhaul will cause the value of the dollar to drop currently at N890 to N200.
On undercover operations with Bureau De Change operators, he says the operation was successful and huge recoveries were made.
Bawa further urged Nigerians to embrace the new policy, while encouraging citizens to take advantage of the whistleblower policy.
