Nigerian Air Force trainer plane crashes at Makurdi

A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) FT-7NI trainer plane crashed at around 4:15 p.m. Friday in Makurdi, Benue state, during a routine training exercise, an official said.

The Nigerian Air Force Public Relations and Information Manager, Edward Gabkwet, made the point in a statement Friday in Abuja.

Mr. Gabkwet, an air commodore, said the two pilots on board survived the crash after successfully ejecting from the plane.

According to him, there was no loss of life or damage to property around the impact area.

"Both pilots are currently under observation at NAF Base Hospital, Makurdi.
