Inside sources, however, said the discussion centered on how to deliver Labor Party presidential candidate Mr Peter Obi in 2023.

2. Amid his presumed death, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, said he was healthy, healthy and ready to serve Nigeria from day one. Tinubu made the claim in a statement accompanying a video of his fitness posted on Sunday via his verified Twitter page.

9. A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has sentenced a retired police officer, Ariwayo Oloyede, alias Oyinbo, to one year in prison for human trafficking. The ex-policeman was convicted alongside a Nigerian based in Burkina Faso, Christian Owanebi, who was sentenced to seven years in prison for the same offense by Judge Abimbola Awogboro.

10. Flooding resulting from heavy downpours in Adamawa State claimed 37 lives. The Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA), which confirmed the human loss, said another 58 people were injured.
