NIS donates 4 million naira to family of officer killed in Jigawa

The Nigerian Immigration Service has donated 4 million naira to the family of its officer who was killed by bandits in Jigawa State.

The Comptroller General, Idris Isa Jere, revealed this while consoling the families of the victims.

DAILY POST reported that bandits attacked immigration officers, killing one and injuring two others in Birniwa Local Government Area, Jigawa State.

CIA Abdullahi Mohammed was killed and the other two officers were shot and wounded in the attack along the Maigatari Gaaladi road less than 3 kilometers from the Nigeria-Niger border.

The CG said the NIS is proud of the sacrifice made by the three valiant officers.

He prayed that Allah would grant the deceased al-Jannatul Firdausi and give his family courage to bear the loss.

He said the NIS is committed to ensuring maximum security of the Nigerian border through electronic border patrol.

“The federal government has approved the redeployment of CCTV cameras, drones and other election gadgets for surveillance of the nation's borders,” he said.
