Nnamdi Kanu: Ex-Imo Gov, Ihedioha denies voice note

Former Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha distanced himself with a voice note claiming to be threatening and a letter from him to the Minister of Justice, asking the Minister not to release Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

In a statement he personally signed and released on Sunday, the former governor said the voice note was "criminally" tampered with, saying those behind it aimed to stab him with the people.

He called on security agents to thoroughly investigate those who impersonated him and forged his signature on documents that did not originate with him.

Ihedioha said he has decided to remain silent since January 14, 2020, when the Supreme Court overturned his election as state governor.

"I consciously gave in to the maxim that silence is golden, so as not to ignite passion in our dear state. But there comes a time when silence is no longer golden. That moment came in. It seems some people are not happy with their stolen money order.

"They've forged documents, concocted voicemails, perjured and maxed out social media throwing mud to see if anyone sticks. They're using issues that are very dear to our people in this infamous project,” the statement added.
