Noel Gallagher delivered a stunning career-spanning set at an emotionally charged reunion show in Manchester.

Mixing the trappings of Oasis and High Flying Birds, it was this set that proved just how powerful he is as a songwriter.

He also showed why, despite everything a cheering crowd would like, he doesn't need to consider a reunion with his brother.

More than 25,000 people gathered in the park, which hosted a huge concert for the first time, and many had memories of Knebworth, Barrowlands, those two legendary nights in Maine Road, which meant that, as feisty and ferocious as his post-Oasis delivery of songs was, it was the '90s ones that really got the crowd moving.

The pleasure that such moments gave Gallagher was questionable. Long before he released a superb Half A World Away, his appearance was claimed by a low voice up front.
