NPA wins the 2022 FEPSGA Games in Jos

The Nigerian Ports Authority team at this year's Federal Civil Service Games (FEPSGA) held in Jos, Plateau State, emerged the overall champion out of a total of 67 government departments , Departments and Agencies (MDA), while Security and Defense Corps NSCDC and Federal Ministry of Works and Housing finished second and third respectively.

Expressing his joy at the success of his team, Nigerian Ports Sports Association (NIPOSA) Chairman and Chief Human Resources Officer, Ahmad Umar, said Chief Executive Officer, Mohammed Bello Koko was visibly delighted and promised to welcome the team to a date to be announced soon, adding that the victory is worth celebrating.

This year's success, according to the President of NIPOSA, was unprecedented as the team achieved several firsts and set many records in the history of games.

"The men's football team won the gold medal in football for the first time and also the trophy for the best overall team.

"Additionally, the number of gold medals won by swimming was exceptional, while the NPA also won medals in areas where they were not usually strong, such as darts and squash ."

Describing the success of the NPA contingent at the Jos games, Team Manager Charles Okaga said he was proud of the team's record-breaking performance.

He had previously advised the football team to fight for each other and show exceptional team spirit before they won 3-1 against the Ministry of Commerce team and of Industry during the last football match.

When Central NIPOSA Public Relations Manager Sola Adesanwo visited the team's camp in Jos, the entire contingent was in jubilation, dancing and slamming glasses in celebration of the huge success.

The same football team had won the Maritime Cup Football competition in early November, a competition organized by Ship and Ports Limited for organizations and agencies in the maritime sub-sector.
