NSCDC arrests four armed robbery suspects in Jigawa

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has arrested four suspected armed robbers in Dutse Local Government, Jigawa State.

Jigawa State NSCDC Command Spokesperson, CSC. Adamu Shehu disclosed this in a statement released to DAILY POST.

He said the suspects were terrorizing residents of Takur Addu'a neighborhoods in and around the Dutch metropolis.

The suspects are Emmanuel Aliyu, Yusuf Sale, Yunusa Muazu and Hassan Umar, residents of Takur Addu'a, Unguwar Gabas and Unguwar Bare-Bari Kachi neighborhoods, respectively, in Dutse.

He explained that the suspects were arrested after conspiring and forcibly entering the house of one NSCDC staff member Umar Yunusa while he was sleeping.

Adamu said one of the subjects was arrested through a piece of evidence they left behind during the operation, which then led to the arrest of the other gang members.< /p>

After investigation, the suspects confessed to terrorizing Takur Addu'a and its surroundings, while using cutlasses and knives to attack and rob residents.

Adamu said the alleged cases of theft, criminal association, burglary and trespass are against Articles 298, 96, 342 and 346 of the Penal Code, respectively.

“The suspects will be charged in a court of competent jurisdiction for prosecution after all investigations are complete,” he said.
